Donald E. Willard, age 94, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Persia, Iowa passed away on Saturday at Midlands Living Center.
Donald was born on March 20, 1925 in Persia, Iowa to the late John and Letha (Ellis) Willard. Donald was a Banker in the Home Savings Bank in Persia, Iowa retiring in 1994. He was of Methodist Faith and a member of the American Legion Rainbow Post #2, VFW Post 737 and Fraternal order of Eagles Aerie #104. Donald served his country in the U S Navy during World War II.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Willard in 2018; brother, John Willard.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Helen Willard of Council Bluffs; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Michael Rice of Omaha; 2 grandchildren, Tim and Tracie Rice of Des Moines; Keri and Jim Boehm of Dallas, Texas; sister, Marilyn Ryan of Council Bluffs.
