Rankin, age 79, of Council Bluffs, passed away April 11, 2012 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Gloria was born June 18, 1932 in Obert, Nebraska, to the late Oswald and Lillian (Stolpe) Rasmussen. She graduated from Obert High School in 1950. Gloria was a seamstress for Prestige Furniture in Council Bluffs for many years retiring in 1993. She is survived by her 6 children, Debbie Lee, Konny (James) Pond all of Council Bluffs, Kim (Phil) Bettis of Jacksonville, Florida, Scott, Lance and Bruce Rankin all of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Carol Thallas of Sioux City, Iowa; brother, Clem (Judy) Rasmussen of Wichita, Kansas; nieces and nephews. Memorials: The Family will direct memorials. Visitation: Visitation with the family, Monday, 2-3 p.m. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Service: A Prayer Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. |
